“comfortable cabin, the Penn lake location is hard to beat”

We chose Tally Ho for its location and the lake – the boat launch and a small pretty beach (both public) are literally beside the property. The cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the lake view is very nice. We’ve been coming to Tally Ho for at least the last 18 years and the place has evolved; it had a more friendly resort‑cottage vibe back in the day. Now it feels so impersonal that you don’t even have to go to the office to check in and out.

“It was adequate. Only stayed a night.”

I liked the spot and the dog‑friendly policy with a small fee, plus the nearby dog park. One front‑desk person seemed annoyed, maybe off that day, and my cabin 12 had no air‑conditioning, so it was hot; opening the windows helped, especially since it was September instead of July or August.

The view was great, the cabin felt rustic but everything we needed was there and it stayed clean.
