The garden and cafe area were nice, and the staff were very friendly; they had a pet dog that we fell in love with.

I liked that the rooms weren’t cramped and the courtyard garden looked beautiful. Two cafés with excellent pho are just 100 m away on the street, and the staff—just one woman—was very kind and responsive, willing to help if you asked. The downside was the steep uphill to the top floor; taxis don’t go down, so you have to carry all your luggage up, which is exhausting. You constantly have to ask for help, which feels a bit intrusive, and there was a small sharp object that left red stains that were unpleasant.

The hotel was overcharging because they added a 13% VAT instead of the usual 8% or 10%. The cake prices were already VAT‑included, so it felt like a double charge.
