Morina Deluxe Hotel

All the staff were brilliant. I read a few reviews before we went and thought some of the views might be exaggerated, but they are not. We booked at the hotel to return next year and were so impressed. Maybe English TV channels, as the only ones were the news.

“Schönes Hotel, aber mit deutlichen Schwächen”

The hotel is modern, visually appealing and overall fairly clean. The staff and the reliable, very friendly cleaners are especially positive. The pool area is also well designed. The location is good because the sea, restaurants and shops are quickly reachable. The room was modern, the bed was relatively clean and the room cleaning was acceptable. The biggest criticism was the extreme loudness of the hotel. You constantly hear other guests opening and closing doors or making loud noises, which sometimes woke me early and made it hard to relax at the pool during the day. My room was right next to the reception, so I could hear guests entering or leaving the hotel very clearly. The Wi‑Fi in the room was very poor and only worked slightly at the pool, but was good at the bar. The breakfast also disappointed me: the selection was limited, lacked variety and was not particularly tasty. Even though I booked a room with direct pool access, the water was very cold and unpalatable throughout my stay. The bar at the room pool was closed, even though I had been told by phone that it would be open. The area was marked “Quiet Pool,” but it was noisy because of other guests over us and at the bar, so I couldn’t enjoy the quiet and privacy I had hoped for. The room also had minor wear, including damaged seams and small cracks in the walls. The hillside location can be a bit tiring on foot. Overall, I found the hotel a bit too expensive for the overall package. Given the many positive reviews and appealing photos, I had higher expectations.

“Great hotel, room itself not up to standard”

The location is great, the venue and hotel territory are nice, and the small pool and cozy garden are perfect for relaxing. The restaurant offers a nice view and the staff are excellent. However, the bed was uncomfortable, hard, and only 2 m long for me. The pillows were also uncomfortable, and the shower lacked blinds, making it transparent. The router’s green light at night was annoying (see attached picture). There were no shelves in the bathroom for personal items, and the overall wardrobe solution was uncomfortable. The sink was shallow and splashed water, and the bathroom area was not isolated from the bed—there was no curtain or similar barrier.

“A lovely, chilled stay at Morina”

We stayed at Morina and the staff were always friendly, greeting us with a good morning and assisting at breakfast and reception. The location is great, just a 10‑minute walk to the main strip and beach, and the nearest supermarket is about 5 minutes away. Our swim‑up room was convenient for sunbathing, though the pool was quite cold so we didn’t swim much. Breakfast was tasty, and we also ate dinner there a few nights, which offered good value. The bed was comfortable, the shower was amazing (I wish my home had the same), and housekeeping cleaned daily. The fridge was large enough for drinks and snacks, and the room had everything we needed. Housekeeping supplied one bottled water each day. The only real issue, not the hotel’s fault, was the mosque opposite broadcasting the early‑morning call to prayer around 5:15 am, which woke us up and I had to use earplugs. Chairs moving above the swim‑up rooms can be annoying, especially in the evenings, and some nights the hotel played music loudly around 11 pm. Minor negatives include the hotel being slightly uphill from the strip, the bed being a double instead of king size, Wi‑Fi allowing only three devices per room and frequently disconnecting, and the shower being transparent in the middle of the room, which affects privacy if you’re sharing. The bar by the swim‑up rooms never opened, though I’m not sure if that’s because we were there in October. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay; the only negatives were mainly noise.
