“A delicious surprise.”

The photos don’t capture this place at all; the rooms were roomy, clean, and cozy, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast blew me away with hot scones, good coffee, and a nice fruit selection—definitely worth another stay. The only downside is the lack of a bathroom mirror for us ladies while our partners use the tub.

“Comfortable, clean and a good location for a more authentic West Coast nature experience.”

The rooms were spotless and cozy, with a heater and electric blankets for cooler nights; the welcome service was warm, and the breakfast featured fresh muffins. The location feels like a genuine West Coast getaway, just outside town, close to a great walk to the lighthouse, excellent views, native bush, a longer walk to the seal colony, and Tauranga Bay. The new owners are lovely and doing a great job updating the motel, giving us a solid experience. We had no issues and were happy overall.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, offering great local tips even though we were only transiting; the room was excellent and every detail was attended to.

“We’ll be back.”

It was warm, cozy, and comfortable, situated in a quiet countryside spot near beautiful scenery and almost beside the pub. The continental breakfast in the dining room offered a wide variety, including gluten‑free options, and the hosts were fantastic.
