First and foremost, the location is absolutely exceptional. You simply cannot fault the natural beauty surrounding this hotel. The lake is magnificent, and the mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop. The hotel sits in what we believe is a truly perfect destination, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. It’s the only hotel on this gorgeous lake, and we’ve never stayed in a more beautiful place before. The hotel itself is also very quaint, charming, and pleasant, and there’s a lovely atmosphere around the property. We ate twice at the restaurant, had pizza both times, and it was really good. The only downside is that the restaurant area overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains, which is undoubtedly one of the property’s best features, is only open to guests who purchase food or drinks from the restaurant. From a certain time in the afternoon, when many guests return from being out, the restaurant/bar area opens, and although it’s a main part of the hotel, the staff told us it’s a separate entity. That’s very stupid, because the hotel is in a secluded area and you’d want to be able to sit and enjoy without being obliged to order something. Especially if you have allergies and can’t eat everything or simply want different food, you’re not allowed to sit there. We understand the restaurant may operate separately from the hotel, and we respect that. However, as paying hotel guests, we feel there should be a dedicated outdoor seating area for hotel guests where they can sit, relax, and enjoy the magnificent surroundings without being required to purchase something from the restaurant every time. This is particularly disappointing because the location itself is the hotel’s greatest asset. Guests come here to relax, enjoy nature, and appreciate the extraordinary scenery. It seems unfortunate that hotel guests have not been provided with a dedicated space to do exactly that. In all my travels around the world I have never seen this in a hotel and it’s not that they lack space. There is plenty of space for a designated area for the hotel guest where they can bring their own food and drinks instead of being obligated to purchase food and drinks from the restaurant at inflated prices every time you just want to sit down.
