The prices for this remote area are far too high and unjustified. There are no shops nearby. The coffee at breakfast tastes awful; cappuccino isn’t offered, you have to order extra foamed milk yourself. Only the evening waiter was friendly. A 0.75‑liter bottle of mineral water from the fridge costs €5.50—absolutely outrageous! The mattress in our room (109) made the springs feel through; they should be replaced. In short, if it’s expensive then everything should be up to standard, but we can’t recommend it.

“Schöner Aufenthalt in ruhiger Lage”

We had heard about the hotel from a stop on one of our bike tours. It’s a bit remote in South Burgenland, but it’s a solid base for cycling and cultural events in Güssing. The owners are genuinely nice. We dined there twice—excellent cuisine. Breakfast met every expectation. The garden was delightful and the pool was nice (we had about 35 °C—very relaxing after the ride). We’ll definitely return, perhaps in autumn for hiking (the new sauna area is very nice).

“Toller Aufenthalt, wenn man Ruhe genießen möchte.”

The owners were very accommodating. Even though we arrived on the house’s day off, we could still enjoy coffee and strudel. Breakfast was great, the sauna area is lovely, and everything was very clean. It all fit.

Everyone was very friendly. The bathroom and toilet could have been larger. We could borrow a bathrobe, but bath/guest slippers were unfortunately not available.
