The staff were friendly, the room was spacious, very clean, stylishly decorated, the beds were just right—not too hard or too soft—and the breakfast was good, but the building is a bit noisy inside, especially with the windows open and the loud outside noise.

The breakfast was phenomenal and the staff at the inn were super friendly, but there were no unreserved seats available for pension guests in the restaurant.

The proximity to the train station is great, the rooms are large and spacious, and the bowling alley and restaurant are part of the guesthouse. The staff, a family business, lack flexibility, especially regarding breakfast and drinks.

“moderne Pension nahe S-Bahnhof”

Since I was there for the third time, I knew the modern rooms had comfortable beds, plenty of storage, and a small wardrobe; everything was very clean, there were enough outlets, and the Wi‑Fi was okay. The staff were very friendly. Most rooms had a small terrace with a table and two chairs for outdoor seating. There were plenty of free parking spaces on the property. Nearby were supermarkets and other shops, and the house had a fridge for late‑night snacks (paid). Breakfast could also be booked the day before for the next morning (as of September 2026: €15 per person). The downside was that we were staying to attend a festival, so the relatively late check‑in from 3 p.m. was inconvenient; fortunately I was able to get into my room a bit earlier. It was early September and not very warm, so the room was fine with the terrace door slightly open (everything is on one level but has a mosquito net and external blinds). Those who need bright light in the room will be happy, but those who prefer a softer light at night still only get bright light.

“Exzellent,ich komme gern wieder!”

I felt very comfortable at the “Pension zum Bergmann.” The pension is in a very good location, just a few meters from the S‑train and also close to the post office, supermarket, pharmacy, etc. The S‑train gets you quickly to Leipzig, the city center with the Thomaskirche, Nikolaikirche, old and new town halls, Auerbachs Keller, the old stock exchange, the Mädlerpassage, and many more sights are worth seeing. Of course, visiting the Völkerschlachtdenkmal is a must. Breakfast is super tasty, with a rich selection that leaves no desire unmet. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished. The staff, both in the pension and the attached restaurant, are very friendly and always listen to guests. The restaurant is very cozy, the food is very good, especially the Saxon cuisine, which is highlighted here (the chef cooks personally!). I had nothing to criticize.
