I’d recommend the “music room” for a great morning wake‑up spot. The place is wide, quiet, and “simple is best.” It’s perfect as a motorcycle touring base or relay point; after looping the Sea of Japan from Hakodate toward Tomakomai, this was the best stop‑over 👍. You should pick up ingredients near Yakumo Station before arrival. The curtains had 2–3 “friends (insects)”; a bug net would have been handy. In the wild, that’s expected, so just use it when you need to. The room was clean 👍.

“Experiencing back to school”

Our two families stayed very comfortably; we had arranged everything in advance and the staff set up two rooms, a BBQ area, and gave us a tour of the facilities and how to use them. The hotel is perfect for playing hide‑and‑seek, fun for both kids and adults, and my daughters thought it was even more enjoyable than USJ Osaka. The ping‑pong and badminton rackets could use some maintenance, a more professional BBQ grill would be nice, and the surroundings feel a bit desolate, so a solo traveler might feel lonely.

“また機会があればうかがいたい。”

The staff were extremely courteous and the premises were clean, with many organic toiletries like shampoo and soap, and I thought the facilities would keep kids entertained while the prices were reasonable; the downside is that there’s nothing nearby, so it’s wise to bring your own food and drinks.

It was an elementary school converted into a hostel/ camp. We had a private room which was the music room. The view was just fabulous! And the room was huge! We were welcomed by a staff who kindly gave us a quick tour. The shared bathroom and toilet facilities were clean. The location was quite remote, which was the charm of the place. Surrounded by nature, it was inevitable that there were some bugs
