“A comfortable base from which to explore Senja”

I had a lovely, clean, modern stay on the waterfront of the sleepy village of Torsken, a good base for exploring Senja, and the breakfast options were delightful with delicious barista coffee. The gym and washing machine were available, which was great, but they could have been better advertised because having access to them made the stay even better. The property has a kitchenette with kettle, fridge, sink, and dishwasher, but no microwave (one is available in the main hotel). Having one in this building would have added convenience.

“Restaurant und Zimmer über Erwartung.”

The dinner at the restaurant was excellent, and the room was surprisingly clean and well-designed. However, the breakfast selection felt a bit limited – we only found a group already there when we arrived.

The food was good and the bathroom was big enough. The room was so noisy that I couldn’t sleep at all, the bed was uncomfortable, and the view looked straight into the parking lot. The check‑in and breakfast areas were too far to walk, especially on rainy days.

The place was nice and the breakfast was good. The sewage smell in the bridge area was unpleasant, the menu had been the same for two years but wasn’t as good, and the room for two people only had one chair.

“Choose carefully.”

The location was pretty and the staff were good. I was assigned room 203, which was 600 m from reception and lacked a phone or kettle. A constant odor like a urinal lingered despite telling staff, who tried but the smell returned. Every meal required a trip to the main building, rain or snow. The dining room in that building had a major power issue, tripping constantly, so no power for the kettle – you couldn’t even brew tea, yet a kitchen was set up. At about 11 pm the entire room lost power; calling reception yielded no reply. I had to sleep in that situation. If something happened, no one would respond – not a pleasant feeling at all.
