“It was relaxing & pleasant & the staff go above & beyond!!”
The vibe, the staff, the location, the peacefulness. The barista skills were lacking, so I went next door for an oat‑milk flat white because they had a better brand of oat milk.
Loved the staff and the beach. The value for money was not great.
The property was so well located, right on the beach and within walking distance of several other beautiful beaches. A half‑day trip to many popular spots is easy from here. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Leone and Eva/Ava (sorry for spelling). The food was great and the rooms were very clean. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
“Posizione pazzesca ma servizi da migliorare...staff molto gentile.”
The staff were very kind, the room was beautiful even though it faced the bar, which was not noisy. The excursions were extraordinary. Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay fell well below expectations, especially given the price. The airport transfer was extremely disappointing and frankly unsafe. We booked two cars: one was an old vehicle without air conditioning, and halfway through the journey the engine broke down, leaving us stranded with about an hour and a half to reach our destination. The children were then transferred, along with the luggage, onto the back of a pickup truck. What was particularly alarming was that the pickup driver, carrying three adults and five children in the back without seatbelts, fell asleep at the wheel. I was sitting in the front and noticed what was happening just in time. The vehicle was at risk of leaving the road, potentially hitting three children walking along the roadside and the hut behind them. It could have resulted in a tragedy both for the people outside the vehicle and for those of us travelling in it. This was simply unacceptable. The handling of the situation afterwards was also disappointing. Initially, the hotel was unwilling even to offer a reduction for the vehicle that had broken down. I was offered a bottle of wine as compensation for the inconvenience, which I declined, and I had to insist before they agreed to adjust the charge. This was particularly frustrating given that the transfer was already very expensive: 2.5 million Indonesian rupiah plus 23 % tax per vehicle. There were also a number of other issues during our stay. The quality of the food was inconsistent, and several ingredients listed on the menu were repeatedly unavailable, including avocado and fish. We were also never able to have a proper hot shower. On the final day, I was sent to another room specifically to shower, only for the hot water there to last for approximately two minutes before turning cold again. Finally, we were charged an additional 2 % credit card fee.
The view, the beach, and the hotel were very beautiful. Perfect for relaxing. It has by far the best bathroom. Two other beaches are nearby and are worth walking to. The staff are very friendly. For example, they organized a tour of an old village for us, which we only asked about that morning. What turns me against the hotel is the price‑performance ratio. Near it is the Nihi Resort, which is extremely expensive. They probably try to keep the hotel’s nightly rates a bit higher because of that. However, it is almost three times as expensive as comparable hotels in Sumba. And despite this price, they gave us two coconuts on arrival, but we had those coconuts on the bill at departure. So the value of this hotel simply does not match for me.
