We loved the works of art and the rooms especially. The furniture and decor were of very good taste and one felt special staying there. The balcony views onto the river were lovely. Absolutely nothing! We loved it all!

The lodge is a great place with a large, comfortable room that has a huge balcony overlooking the Okavango, and the food at the restaurant is very good. The breakfast, however, is only a la carte with four options, and there is no fruit, juice, water, or sweet pastries. If you pick something like yogurt with fruit and eggs on toast from the menu, you have to pay extra, because it costs more than 250 $NS, which is unacceptable for such an expensive lodge.

The Simanya River Lodge offers a view of the Kavango and looks toward Angola; the newly laid garden is beautifully designed. The lodge feels modern and very welcoming, and the room is spacious and well furnished. We also went on a sunset river cruise, which was nice but could have been better. Because other guests arrived late, it lasted only about an hour and only went a short distance downstream and back, even though we were told the river horses go upstream. With few animals, the guide could have shared more about the area, but the tour was friendly. The lodge was one of the most expensive on the trip, over 200 EUR, and in terms of value it was on the lower end compared to the other excellent lodges.
