I booked a twin room for an overnight stay while walking the Thames Path with a friend, but upon arrival the hotel said they hadn’t received that request and could only offer a double room, so we had to share a double bed, which wasn’t ideal. The staff apologized and even gave us a discount on the booking.

The room was lovely with a deep bath, the food was great, and the staff were very friendly.

The room had so much character, likely from a recent renovation—warm, cozy, and spacious—and the breakfast was fantastic. Nothing else to note.

The hotel was great and had been refurbished since our last visit, but we were woken shortly after 6 am by a very noisy kitchen extraction system, ruining our sleep. Instead of refunding the problematic accommodation, they offered a free breakfast. Talking to staff revealed this was a known issue.
