A flawless stay: the room was great, with a warm shower, elevator access, a view of the lotus tower, a balcony, and solid air‑conditioning that kept the night quiet; we stayed for four nights and found nothing to complain about.

The room was well equipped, nearby food was convenient, and the location and price were top choices for the area. However, the street outside was noisy; staying away from the alley side was better because people talked loudly in the alley and it amplified in the room. Early‑morning crows were also loud, and when I tried to smoke on the balcony I was confronted. The mosque broadcast at 5 am was already loud, and the speaker was powerful. The best rooms are on the lotus tower side.

Being in the city made it easy to get around. The surrounding area had a lot of noise.

“what I expected”

I wanted a place close enough to walk to the bus or train, with coffee outside before 6am, and the location was perfect. Some other reviews argue whether it’s a slum. This is my view as someone who also holds an (Indian) post‑grad certificate in urban development. It is a slum, but it’s reasonably well serviced in terms of water, sewage, garbage collection, etc. The residences seen from my balcony were definitely below local building standards. It’s as much a commercial slum as a residual one, but I found it a comfortable place to stay (speaking as a man). The small‑scale commercial nature of the area fits a traditional hard‑working community that felt safe. The muezzin sounded incredible early in the morning. The only downside was that it could have been cleaner, but it was passable.
