““Waking up among the Douro vineyards — simply magical”

I had an unforgettable stay at Vila Marim after a full day exploring the Douro Valley, including Quinta do Seixo and Quinta das Carvalhas. The property is surrounded by vineyards and offers breathtaking scenery. The rooms are gorgeous, beautifully designed, extremely comfortable, and full of thoughtful details and amenities. The beds were wonderful, and even the fragrances and little touches throughout the room made everything feel special. I arrived around 10 pm, after the staff had left, and had to navigate the separate little houses to find my room and carry luggage from the parking area in the dark, which was a bit challenging. I would recommend arriving before sunset if possible, because the surroundings are too beautiful to miss. The next morning was magical, waking up to the sun rising over the Douro mountains and vineyards. Breakfast was outstanding—complete, fresh, delicious, with plenty of options—and enjoying it with that view was the perfect way to start the day and recharge before continuing our road trip to Lisbon. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, memorable place to experience the Douro Valley, and I would definitely stay here again.

“The most beautiful place in the world”

I stayed at the top of a mountain surrounded by grape vines and olive trees, and it was beautiful! Nothing negative.
