I can’t recommend the Hotel Weidenhof; it feels like a run‑down place with no luxury, just a throwback to the early 2000s. The vibe was off from the start, and it seems the hotel either refuses or can’t meet today’s new standards. Even though the price was slightly lower, we’d have preferred a newer, nicer hotel in Düsseldorf. Still, the staff were genuinely pleasant and welcomed us upon arrival, and we appreciated the 24‑hour reception. On the downside, the windows are leaky and let in all the street noise; we constantly heard other guests walking, tramping, and moving items over our heads. Mold appeared on the bathroom wall seams, and the shower itself was cramped and, in our view, gross. The bed was uncomfortable and creaked with every shift, the towels in the bathroom were gray, washed‑out, and too small, and the sheets had yellow stains from urine.

Breakfast was excellent, the location is great (very close to the tram), the room was large and very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
