The hot spring was great! However, the sauna was broken, and it was disappointing that the livestream video couldn’t be viewed on the TV.

It rained heavily, yet my luggage wasn’t unloaded from the trunk. The room was cramped. I had a foot injury and requested a bed, but there wasn’t one. The food was always served after a delay, and it was clear that it was prepared later.

Every staff member was incredibly courteous and helpful, and they really livened up the summer festival so everyone could enjoy it. The room, including the outdoor onsen, was impeccably clean and very comfortable. The shuttle between the bus terminal and the night‑time Yubatake was extremely convenient; even when it was full, the next bus arrived right away. The lounge only has a limited number of seats, so it’s understandable, but during the crowded night‑time soba rush the guidance seemed lacking. Some guests looked lost, and a few even got cut in line. It would help to post clear notices near the counter about take‑away options and any rules.

Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the baths offered a wide variety of options plus a sauna that let me fully enjoy the experience; the yukata and pillow service were also great. However, some of the wooden fences and privacy screens looked worn out, which bothered me.

Highly recommend the hotel’s two large public pools and three private baths—they’re stylish and clearly cared for; the two‑meal‑per‑day plan was solid, especially dinner with its diverse dishes that pleased the elders, though younger guests might want more. The hotel sits a bit away from the bustling area, so it’s quiet but somewhat remote, yet the shuttle service was very handy and even reached Karuizawa, which helped our itinerary a lot.
