The place was new and tidy, but I paid for a hotel with a restaurant and ended up with a motel that only had a snack bar. It was far too pricey for a motel, the food was pre‑packed and microwaved, there was no housekeeping for four days, the bed stayed unmade, and the waste bins overflowed—overall a huge let‑down for the steep rate.

It was close to the wedding venue we were attending. We booked a king‑size bed but received a queen‑size bed, with no price adjustment. The air‑conditioning unit rattled, the screen door wouldn’t open to the courtyard, and water backed up in the tub while showering, though the shower pressure was good.
