I was scrambling for a last‑minute spot in the OBX Buxton area and Cape Pines delivered the calm, laid‑back vibe I wanted. The staff were kind, professional, and quick to respond, even mailing back the PJ’s I had left in my room. If you’re after a relaxed setting with great service, this place is the one. The motel itself is basic and no‑frills, but it’s close to everything you’ll need, with a market just across the street, and the best scallops and fresh fish bites at Pops Restaurant are only a mile drive down the road.

The location in Buxton is spot on, right across the street from the local grocery store, and you can easily reach the beaches and shops in Avon, Frisco or Hatteras. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was nice and clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. The hallway leading to the room wasn’t air‑conditioned, so it was very hot going in.

The room was a large space with two comfortable beds, very clean, and we enjoyed our two nights there. The pool is great for staying cool. The staff were very friendly and provided useful information to help us get around. They’re doing many upgrades to the property and it’s looking great! It’s close to beaches and restaurants.
