Breakfast was excellent. The quilt was stained, the mattress was the wrong size, and the bed was very uncomfortable. My friend’s bed base had what looked like water marks, and their toilet wouldn’t flush unless they filled the cistern first. Such a shame, because it could have been a lovely hotel.

Nothing positive. Dealing with customer service to get my money back forced me to stay elsewhere, where I had to pay another £260. The pier hotel Samdown had my mate put the charge on his credit card, and we feel we need compensation. This is the Wight Bay Hotel, which should have met standards, but it didn’t.

The only thing that works for this hotel is its location, but the building looks old, there’s no staff, no facilities, and the room is tiny.
