“Buen trato y entorno bonito, pero no pudimos descansar como esperábamos”

The accommodation matched the photos and the staff were very friendly. The setting was pretty, and even though it was a bit remote, it turned out to be a good spot for exploring the area. We knew we’d need a car when we booked, so that wasn’t a problem. The air‑conditioning worked great, which we really appreciated. We couldn’t sleep because roosters next to the room crowed from around 5 am until noon, so we had to buy earplugs. The property is somewhat old and the kitchen is very basic, with a small grill and no seasonings. The Wi‑Fi didn’t reach the room, but that was a secondary issue. We were also added to a WhatsApp group with other guests without being told; we would have liked to be asked first.

“Menos de lo esperado”

Juan was a very pleasant man who explained everything we needed to know about Barbate, very friendly and attentive from the start. The bathroom door and the room window didn’t close properly, the bathroom smelled like pipes, and we had to keep the door “closed” to avoid sleeping with that odor. The pool wasn’t very clean. After all the good reviews, we were left a little disappointed.

We arrived to find cigarette butts on the floor corner, the floor was filthy and dusty, giving the impression it hadn't been cleaned before we got there. The brooms outside were soaked and muddy, so they were practically useless for tidying the room. The place is very remote, you need a car for almost everything. Traveling with a small child, we missed having a microwave to heat the bottle; a communal microwave would be a necessary improvement for a property like this. On the bright side, our daughter loved the farm’s roosters and sheep and had a great time watching them. We couldn’t endure the days we booked and left early. Overall, due to the lack of cleanliness, the location and the facilities, we won’t return.
