“Photos were deceiving”
The staff were okay. They were training a new staff member, so check‑in was quite slow, but the new team member did try his best. Unfortunately, the photos and the actual accommodation did not match our experience. The kitchen was very small, dark and quite dated. Although there was a large TV, it would not connect properly to the Wi‑Fi, so we were unable to log into any streaming apps and were limited to free‑to‑air television. The Wi‑Fi signal in our room was only around one bar, so we ended up using our own mobile data most of the time. The bed itself wasn’t too bad, but the bedding was definitely not suitable for winter. There were only two flat sheets with a very thin blanket in between — no doona, duvet or proper comforter. As we were a family of six, I ended up calling the office at around 11:30 pm to ask for additional blankets. I do want to give credit to the staff member who was on duty that night. He was fantastic. Within about two minutes of my call, he arrived at our door with four extra blankets. His availability, friendliness and willingness to help so quickly were very much appreciated. The bathroom was also difficult with young children. The bath was extremely small and set quite deep into the floor, which made bathing our toddlers awkward and uncomfortable. The couches were very saggy and sunken in, and the carpets felt loose underneath your feet. We were thankful to have a roof over our heads for the night, and I appreciate the staff member who helped us so promptly, but overall the accommodation felt very dated, poorly maintained and quite dodgy compared with what we expected from the photos.
