The facilities are certainly special, and a touch of gold and old‑world splendor can’t hurt ;) Unfortunately, the blend with modern times didn’t work so well. The terrace extension and garden don’t match the rest of the building, and while I love old things, I didn’t need peeling wallpaper or a worn‑out feather‑bed mattress. Breakfast was modest and tasty, but sadly no one was available in the house to make a cappuccino or answer other questions.

“Misleidend en teleurstellende ervaring..”

Nice, quiet room, the hotel looks pretty inside, but that’s about all you can say. It wasn’t the hotel shown in the pictures (so very misleading) and it’s definitely not a 4‑star location (it used to be 2 stars). At check‑in I had to fill out a form again even though I’d already done the online check‑in. The reception felt more like a “back‑of‑the‑envelope” exercise than a warm welcome. The room had more switches than lights; some worked, some didn’t. The bathroom was cramped, with little storage. The small shower cabin had a shower gel dispenser that didn’t work. No facilities for women, and no toothbrush available in the hotel. The restaurant looks chic with high prices, but the menu layout is sparse and unremarkable. Respectfully, if I order a schnitzel at the fry shop, it’s served ten times better! Overall, a disappointing experience. The hotel didn’t live up to expectations.

Nice building, appealing interior. Comfortable bed. Good location. Unfortunately, there was no nightstand. It was also a shame that there was a kettle, but only a few herbal tea bags and no coffee or black or green tea. The minibar was empty, and the carpet had many stains.
