We booked for four people with “2 very large double beds,” but the owner insisted we share a single double bed because there is only one bed per unit, contrary to the listing. When we arrived, there was no electricity, no towels, no soap, no toilet paper. After bargaining, the owner supplied everything, but the towels were black with dirt and blood stains. The Wi‑Fi stopped working the day before our stay—what a coincidence. Cleanliness was lacking: tons of hair throughout the unit, toothpaste in the sink, a disgusting shower drain. The breakfast promised in the description was no longer offered when we asked, another mistake in the ad. The restaurant mentioned is actually 1.6 km away, not on the premises. The owner keeps calling to ask where we are and what we’re doing, which is very annoying. Initially friendly, he turns out to be a con, pushing a guide for 450 k per person to climb Mount Batur and claiming we must pay for tickets. We declined and saved 450 k each because the guide was unnecessary. It’s a shame the property’s potential is ruined by a dishonest owner who lies like a tooth‑puller.

The accommodation never materialised.

The place is beautifully designed, an oasis surrounded by vegetable fields with a lovely view of Mount Batur. Unfortunately, the description doesn’t match the accommodation. There is no on‑site dining; the nearest restaurant is far away. The advertised services—beauty salon, restaurant, bathtub, cooking class, hair dryer—are missing. There is no reception, let alone 24‑hour security. When booking the Mount Batur trek, a vehicle for five people with children was not ready at 3 am as promised.
