The views, dams, fishing, and wildlife were impressive. However, a dead carcass was found around the estate, the paths to the waterfall pools were missing so we couldn’t access them, the kitchen and its utensils needed cleaning before use, and the interior of the house was dirty.

If you want peace and quiet, this place tops the list—it was a much‑needed escape from everyday life, and at Tillietudlem you feel like the real world has vanished, leaving just you and nature. However, the lodge needs a touch of refinement; the kitchen lacks basic items such as a salad bowl or a Pyrex dish, so I had to use a pot for coleslaw and a pan for potato bake (luckily it was stainless steel and could go in the oven). Overall, the lodge feels outdated and could use some updates.

The farm is beautiful and the fishing was excellent.
