Our first Ryokan experience, and the staff made us feel warmly welcomed even though we were clueless foreigners. The onsen was lovely, overlooking the valley with moonlight at night, and our tatami room was very nice. It was quite an experience.

Good location, tasty dinner. We were assigned the room with a private bath, but the water was too hot to use, and the bath was cramped; better skip the extra cost and use the many public onsens instead.

The open‑air bath felt liberating and was great for family time. The nearby Kurosawa Onsen town let us stroll after dinner in yukata or in the morning. The compact layout made moving around the building easy. Dinner time was a bit early, with the latest service at 18:00; those who prefer later meals should note that.

The whole town feels magical, and this ryokan lived up to that vibe. The rooms were pretty, the staff were kind, and the baths—especially the footbath—were amazing and super relaxing. I tried the traditional dinner and breakfast, but I’m not a fan of that style of food; still, it was a worthwhile experience and I’m glad I gave it a shot.
