We were close to what we wanted to be. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Miss Nellie did a wonderful job, was very friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our breakfast. It wasn’t as clean as the last time we stayed. I had a problem being on the first floor when we checked in, but the clerk was too busy finishing his shift and just said flat out no he could not help us. If it weren’t for Miss Nellie and her wonderful breakfast, I would think twice about coming back next year. We might try somewhere new next year.

The room is large and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is in a good spot for exploring Charleston and Mount Pleasant. Restaurants are within a few minutes’ drive to Shem Creek. The hotel urgently needs renovation. The furniture is worn and the wallpaper has peeled in some places. It’s overall very dark and gloomy. Unfortunately, after the room cleaning there were still stains (e.g., on the bathroom mirror). The smell was partly very musty, and next to the laundry room it smelled like sweat. What irritated us most was waking up in the last night to a noise at our door; it turned out the night staff had pushed the bill through the door.
The room had a strong odor.

Great breakfast. Clean rooms. The carpet going upstairs needed cleaning, but overall it was clean and didn’t have any bad smells.

The hotel offers good breakfast, a nice outdoor pool, and the promenade is a 15‑minute walk away. The aunt at reception asked strictly about the purpose of the visit, but then immediately handed over the keys.
