“The hotel it's self was good”

Walking distance to most of Tofino. The people upstairs behaved like elephants, and the neighbors thought it fine to shower at 11:30 pm, making the pipes loud. It wasn’t really the hotel’s fault, just inconsiderate guests.

The location in Tofino was good. The rooms lacked charm and the motel felt very dated.

“Has potential”

The location was great and the motel had a Hansel and Gretel fairy‑tale vibe. A grocery store was across the street and there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. It seemed family‑owned and the rooms were clean and stocked. The staff were not approachable or welcoming. When we arrived, a man had his back to us and kept turning to look at us. About 10 minutes later, a woman came down and checked us in. Our daughter’s room was at the back and looked fine, but the balcony or patio furniture was dirty and didn’t seem safe. Our room was more outdated; we had to wear shoes because the flooring had nails sticking out and the floor was coming up. A carpet runner at the foot of the bed had no base, so it bent and moved when we walked on it. The motel clearly needs a renovation.

The building is over 30 years old, so the interior is clean and well‑organized, giving it a nostalgic feel. It’s called a cafeteria, but they provide free ice and coffee, and there’s a microwave, toaster, sink, fork, and spoon so you can make a simple meal. The only downside was that the smoking room smelled like cigarettes, so I got a bad odor in my first room.
