“Fantastiskt läge och fint klassiskt hotell.”
Classic and stylish with fine material choices; a very comfortable bed with a thick duvet and many pillows; the room was well equipped and the bathroom very luxurious, clean and neat. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the bathroom was very nice, the shower entrance was only about 44 cm wide, forcing us to squeeze past the sink. I also dislike the all‑covering rug that is unfortunately common in the UK.

The breakfast was decent and the staff were friendly, and everything was presented nicely. However, the old carpet in my room made the overall look feel dated, and the shower screen was a real letdown because it leaked a lot; there was a big gap at the shower entrance with only a short piece of glass, so water kept running onto the bathroom floor.
“Lovely but disappointing response to a valid complaint”
The hotel was wonderfully and thoughtfully renovated, with many lovely little touches and attention to detail such as large tea cups and saucers, fresh milk and water in the fridge, and nice bathroom products. We were disturbed from 9 am until checkout by extremely loud banging and building work, which we thought was part of the ongoing renovation coming from either the next‑door room 407 or perhaps upstairs. When we told the checkout staff, they seemed to doubt us and patronised us, as if we had invented the noise. Because of this, we also mentioned that our TV didn’t work and that, to a lesser extent, the shower gel pumps in the shower and sink were too stiff to activate.
