We stayed at the farm’s grounds, which had the relaxed, rural vibe we’d been craving. The trip was a family outing, mostly older relatives, and they enjoyed the bird songs and insects more than a star‑rated hotel would have offered; we’ll consider returning to Pingtung. The only downside was that the room we, the younger ones, had was slow to get hot water— the owner explained the pipes were long and needed to drain cold water first, so hot water took 10 plus minutes, while other rooms had it in 3–5 minutes, so we ended up showering in a relative’s room instead.
