The check‑in was unexpectedly rude, and even though I’d booked and paid two weeks ahead, I wasn’t prepared for the lack of assistance in getting into the room. The host can actually see you on camera during off‑site check‑in. The room was tiny for two beds, had no kitchen, and shared a bathroom with strangers—no chairs or closet, just one roll of toilet paper for two people over two nights.

I loved how Protea markets their apartment on the website and how easy it was to book; the communication was solid and overall I appreciate their service, but I’m not convinced they take responsibility for the life of their guests.
