The breakfast was lovely, the service was good, and the staff were polite. The room was a good size and clean. Laura at the desk was brilliant and extremely helpful—not only did she arrange my room near my friends, she also went the extra mile for our whole party. The bar area could have been better, and I felt the younger staff needed a bit more training, but I understood that a wedding and a wake had required extra staff to be drafted in. I also ordered a cream tea, but there was no clotted cream available in the kitchen, so I ended up with just jam and butter.
