After that everything went well: the room was clean and fresh, very quiet, the breakfast was decent, and the owners were very friendly, giving good value for a single. I arrived in Udersdorf, only to find the hotel actually in Tettscheid, a 5 km road trip and a steepish 100 m+ climb away – I should have checked that more carefully.
