Shangri-La Karesansui Hotel

Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is incredible and the facilities overall really beautiful and authentic. Also really nice breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and the location is great—just a short walk to Shangri_La old town. The room was very comfortable. No complaints.

The location was perfect in Old Town with plenty of restaurants. The hotel staff were very helpful and arranged a driver‑taxi for our day trip. They also packed a to‑go breakfast that was super tasty and well prepared. We were taken to the train station at no extra charge. Communication was easy with a translation app, and one staff member could speak English. We booked the best and largest room and all our expectations were met. The balcony had a nice view of Skilpaddebjerget and the big Ferris wheel, but the balcony itself felt under‑used and would be better with more outdoor furniture. Our room was huge and very cozy. The best recommendations for Karesansui. The only downside was that we only had 3 nights at this wonderful hotel.

“Un soggiorno incredibile ❤️”

The property in the historic center of Shangri‑la is truly stunning. It’s family‑run, so they think of everything, speak excellent English, and are exceptional people. The hospitality of the Yunnan staff and especially the hotel is unmatched; we were welcomed with excellent local tea, sweets, fruit, and local gifts. They also helped with our excursion: we asked in advance if a private driver could be arranged from the station (with all our luggage) for a tour of Lake Napa, the meadows, and Pudacao Park; the driver guided us around the lake, stopped at every spot, helped with luggage, and recommended a lunch restaurant. The exterior is beautiful, with modern and ancient elements, and a lovely Malamute dog mascot greets you outside. The room is incredible, with a canopy bed, a snack and tea corner, a bathtub with a skylight for stargazing, and a bathroom with all comforts. Truly an amazing room. It’s just steps from the historic center and the Guishan Park with the Tibetan drum. We were treated in an incredible way, from breakfast—the best in all of Yunnan—to the warm milk at night in the hotel, to the transfer to the station. Words cannot describe this place; we’re here only to recommend it. Nothing to complain about, everything perfect.

“A warm, comfortable stay with wonderful hosts in a perfect location near Dukezong Ancient Town. And they have a very cut”

The location was excellent, very close to Dukezong Ancient Town. The hotel is run by a lovely family - a married couple and the wife’s sister - and they were all incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. They even picked me up from the train station, which made everything so easy. The food was also very nice, and the room was extremely comfortable with everything I needed, including heated floors. I felt very well taken care of throughout my stay. Honestly, nothing. I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay
