“Überteuerte Übernachtung mit schlechtem Frühstück”
The hotel’s location is quiet and the rooms are clean, but for a four‑star rated place that charges about €200 for a double, the breakfast was awful. The breakfast room feels like a youth hostel, coffee comes in paper cups, guests clear their own dishes and separate their trash. Otherwise it’s a simple buffet with no bacon and only one type of cheese.
The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was nice.
Standarthotel, nichts besonderes, aber mit superguten Betten
“Worst Western minus würde besser passen”
The place was clean enough—nothing clinical, but generally tidy. At night it stayed quiet, and the breakfast area was surprisingly spacious for a North American hotel of this class. The worst part was when I logged into my Netflix account on the room TV; the next evening a random profile with a random letter combination appeared, so I immediately signed out. The staff hung a “do not disturb” sign, but I have no idea what they do when you’re not in the room, and for the next three nights we chose not to use room service. Most of the staff seemed uninterested or even ignorant; they didn’t greet us or even nod. That started at check‑in. The room number was given, breakfast ran from 7 to 10, and that was the end. Checkout was handled with a lot of irritation, and there was no farewell. We never complained or gave any reason for the rude treatment. Even for North American standards, the breakfast was awful—scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans were barely refilled, and if you arrived at 9 o’clock there might be nothing left. The pastries were minimal. Overall food quality was poor. The room itself was a huge space with very little offering, and the photos made it look far more modern than it actually is; it feels like a 40‑year‑old property. The room was dark, and the price‑performance ratio was terrible. We’ve been traveling across North America annually since 2014 (excluding COVID), usually staying in this category of hotels that we jokingly call “Know one, know all.” All chains feel the same, but this one is definitely one of the absolute worst we’ve ever stayed in.
It was close to restaurants, bars, and the like, and the breakfast was very good.
