The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We had booked a triple with a shared bathroom, but on arrival he gave us a room with a private bathroom instead. The room and bathroom were large and spotless. The owner lives five minutes away, so he handed us keys for the front door, letting us come and go freely, and he kindly stayed to check us out at 6 am the next morning. He also shared his phone number for any time we needed to reach him. The spot is ideal for anyone using the train station – about a seven‑minute walk from the station, on the main street with plenty of dining options. A Tuk‑Tuk from the station takes about five minutes (you have to go around the one‑way system) and costs under LKR200. It was a great overnight stay in a lively, vibrant town. Highly recommend.

It’s close to the railway and inexpensive, but it was dirty. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and many insects in the room, no Wi‑Fi, no bed sheets, no soap or anything in the bathroom. I had to ask for towels and toilet paper, so if I hadn’t, we would have had nothing. It was really loud at night; I couldn’t tell if something was jumping on the roof, but it felt like the roof might collapse over us. We barely slept and were eager to leave.

The spot’s right next to the bus station, so you’ve got loads of places to head to. It was quiet, and we got a room with a balcony and a bathroom, plus towels. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast comes with the price, and it’s pretty generous. Highly recommend.

The owner is a nice person. The room was clean and had a hot shower. It’s a great spot if you need to catch a train the next morning. There was no WiFi, but that didn’t bother us.
