The location near the Run Port Douglas start line, the affordable room rate, and the great budget food, plus off‑street parking, were all positives. At first I wasn’t sure it’d be suitable for family since it’s a backpacker style place.

Getting to town for our needs was easy, and the room itself was great. The only downside was the lack of power points for phone charging.

The spot was close to the main strip and it was convenient to have the restaurant on site if you don’t want to go out, but for the price of the room I expected the management to care more about guest comfort. The constant screaming, shouting, and extremely loud music from the backpackers continued late into the night, and we were woken again around 6 am by more yelling. If you’re looking for a good night’s sleep, I’d recommend staying elsewhere. Very disappointing.

The room was clean and tidy, but it was very noisy – loud music played until 4 am.

We had very bad experiences with the accommodation – it was very dirty and EXTREMELY noisy all night until about 4/5 am. Sleeping was impossible. Even though it’s a hostel, there should be at least a 12 pm or 1 am curfew; if you want to sleep at night, avoid this hotel.
