Check‑in was so welcoming, the room was large and comfortable with a wonderful onsen bath; I booked a room with Mountain View and reserved a private pool area. Loved this place.

Quiet and elegant, surrounded by a green forest, this facility is everything I imagined and more. From the warm welcome, to our huge beautiful room, the porch with a private hot (!) tub, to the excellent dinner and breakfast, this is a spot I can’t wait to return to. I liked everything.

Everything is magnificent and of high quality: the layout, the visual and olfactory aesthetics of the ryokan, the forest view from our large family room, the kindness and strong sense of service from all staff. The location is convenient for bus access to Lake Ashi and Owakudani. All meals are delicious and elegantly presented in the generous dinner and breakfast; we’re served at the table in a well-separated space with small partitions and screens; Yukata are provided for mealtimes. We enjoyed the private hot bath on the terrace overlooking the forest. Finally, a free shuttle from the hotel to Hakone Yumoto Station when we left.
