The area is very quiet, a residential neighbourhood with its own houses, so there’s almost no street noise and because the road in front is dead‑ended, there’s practically no traffic. The neighbours are generally calm and the walls are good enough to keep sound from adjacent rooms from leaking through. It’s an old hotel, which means every room has its own shower and toilet, a feature that I really appreciated. The downside isn’t the hotel itself, but the house sits on a hill that can only be reached on foot via steep paths. In my room the kitchen tap was connected to the toilet’s water supply and drain, so only cold water was available from the tap; to wash dishes with hot water you had to use the sink in the bathroom. That’s doable but it would have been more convenient if it had been noted. The Wi‑Fi became quite unstable when it got hot.
