“Lovely place to stay- would recommend”
Nicely decorated rooms. Comfortable bed. Parking. Beautifully presented cooked breakfast. Melford Hall is a very short walking distance away. Interesting village to wander around. Good information given about the many places to eat in Long Melford. Excellent attention by owners. We found the light switches rather confusing, even having read the information folder. The bathroom lacks shelves to put toiletry bags on. The towels were very hard. There was an 'emergency' light that came on as we moved about the bedroom. Now it's mid October, the walk back from the village is very dark for the last few metres, although there is a footpath. Recommend taking a torch. It's right next to the main road so traffic noise in the morning is possibly unavoidable. A little odd not to give a choice of eggs with the full breakfast. I would have preferred poached. I would have appreciated being offered a vegetable spread rather than butter. (Avoiding dairy, if possible, but not essential so I didn't advise in advance.)
