This lodge is a perfect base for visiting the chimpanzees at the famous Kibale National Park, the “chimp capital of the world,” with the entrance only a 20‑minute drive away. It’s also an ideal spot for the beautiful surrounding nature – crater lakes, waterfalls, and jungle. The rooms were comfortable, the value for money excellent, and the views from the high‑altitude resort were simply phenomenal. The food was exceptionally good, thanks to a fantastic chef who really surprised us at such a remote location. Not to forget: the staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable, putting in 110 % effort to make the stay perfect. In fact, there was nothing to complain about – this stay exceeded my expectations completely.

The view was amazing, and the food was good, but $1500 US was stolen from the room by the staff. We were the only people staying there.

The spot is gorgeous, but the cottages feel steep for what they deliver. With a little tweaking it could be fantastic, and the view is probably one of the best in Fort Portal.
