“Wonderful experience in an out of season hostel”
Imagine a large empty youth hostel in a lovely location, all for two of you. That was our experience booking a room out of season in the summer. The bunks were comfortable (we had a lower bunk each in a four‑bedded room) and the bathrooms were fine—sparkling clean. We had the run of the huge kitchen, comfortable living room, and the back terrace, with views onto fields and woods where you can walk (and lots of rabbits). It was all well lit, so not at all spooky to be alone. In fact, we were amazed to be alone—it would be a fantastic place for a stay by a group of friends, or groups of families. Maybe people don’t book it because it’s not next to the beach? But if you have a car, it’s not far from beaches and wonderful cliff walks and Fishguard. And (I hope) the money goes to a good cause of youth training. Recommended! It was all great (for those who are ok with a youth hostel vibe). OK, the high water pressure in some of the taps was a bit scary. And despite the signs up about recycling, there didn’t seem to be any way to recycle most rubbish types (this won’t bother most guests, but I would like the managers to take note!).
