Only the location mattered. It was both the most expensive and the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in India. I booked a double deluxe room with a private bathroom and a terrace with a view. In reality, it felt like a basement; the terrace faced a wall, there was no natural light, and the hallway had a window with no blackout curtains. The walls were cardboard, the hotel echoed like a cathedral, and you’d be woken at 6 am by the occupants; at 9 am they crank up the music because the hotel also hosts receptions. There was no shower in the bathroom—you had to use a bucket. The room was very dirty… don’t trust the site photos; even the menu map was a lie: when I asked where breakfast was, they said they didn’t serve it and that I had to go into town! The staff was unpleasant to top it all off. At 25 euros a night, it’s better to go elsewhere!

It was clean, the staff were supportive, affordable, and close to town.

The location is great, the place is spotless, and the bedding is very comfortable, but the stairs are a hassle when you come back on foot.
