Sona is a sunshine! From the very first second we felt right at home, almost like part of the family, and we were invited to the son’s birthday party on the first evening. The food Sona cooked is a dream—let yourself be cooked or even take a cooking lesson! We’ll come back right away.

I stayed with Sona and her family and they were absolutely fantastic. Sona was incredibly kind and cooked mouth‑watering meals. She helped with everything from city tips to arranging tours and even picking me up or dropping me off at the station or airport. I also bought some homemade spices from her at fair prices. Highly recommended.

The family was very welcoming, the food was great (including the cooking class!), and the location is easy to walk to many restaurants, the ghat, and small shops for snacks, drinks, water, and shampoo. The room was spotless, the AC worked, the shower had hot water, and there’s a rooftop where you can hang clothes to dry. Laundry service is available. The downside is the many stairs to reach the room, which made carrying luggage and heat a challenge. The kitchen was hot, so I was sweating during the cooking lesson and while eating breakfast and dinner. I’d recommend installing AC in those areas.

0 negative comments, highly recommend! This was the cleanest place I’ve had on my trip to India. If I ever visit Varanasi again, I’ll definitely stay here. The bathroom/shower is small but the shower works well and the hot water is plentiful. The host is friendly, speaks good English (no communication problems), and cooks excellently. This place far exceeds the expectations set by the online photos.

The location was great, but the rooms and common area were tiny and very dark, so the price‑to‑value ratio didn’t work out. The owner was friendly and we managed to get a small discount because our dissatisfaction was obvious.
