South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront

The building looks nice and the parking is good, but the location isn’t very walkable. Rooms were clean, though the beds need a new mattress. I was surprised that no breakfast was included, even though it’s a Marriott. The staff were friendly, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel was clean but the location wasn’t ideal. No breakfast was offered, unlike other Marriott properties. The front desk staff were all very personable. The pool and jacuzzi advertised in the listing were not available. The room was clean and spacious, and we ate dinner at the on‑site restaurant, which served nice food. The mattress was lumpy and old and clearly needs replacing. The location offered only a view of the river, with no nearby walking spots. Overall, the experience fell below other Marriott standards, so I would not return.

“Disappointing pricey and unclean”

The setting was beautiful, and the breakfast and its staff were great. However, the floors were dirty every morning on the main floors and stairs, while the elevator remained clean. Cleaning staff worked at 8:30‑9:00 am, which should have been done overnight. The shower was dirty, with a dirty floor and moldy seams, and the washcloth had holes. Patio furniture was covered in water after the storm, which lasted four nights and five days, and the furniture was never cleaned. The hotel was poorly maintained overall, and the AC blew black dust onto the sheets in the room.

Everything was fine—my room was tidy, quiet, and the location was handy, but I was surprised there was no free coffee in the lobby in the mornings, unlike other upscale spots that offer complimentary coffee a.m.
