Super quiet location, Daniel is a very nice host, we were there with our dog and would book there again anytime.

The accommodation was practically impossible to contact. In the end we cancelled, yet a day before arrival we still received the digital check‑in details for the hotel room. Even after that, they hadn’t read our cancellation. After booking we were sent a long list of rules about how to get there, check‑in, breakfast, etc. We were just on holiday wanting peace without hassle, but the notice also said there was little or no internet, which was a big problem for us. According to the rules we cancelled within 24 hours, but it took three days for them to respond and they didn’t give us a refund. They tried to get the accommodation for us, which only succeeded after two to three days, but the hotel left us stranded and didn’t return our money. If you want to be unreachable and unreliable, I would suggest booking elsewhere.

The place is smack in the middle of the forest, roughly 8 km from Wernigerode, so the last few kilometres require careful driving on uneven forest roads. The breakfast wasn’t that great, especially the sausage selection.
