Facing the lake, the room is spacious with a beautiful lake view, but the hotel is far from the boutique hotel and closer to the tourist factory, lacking soul especially after coming from a more intimate hotel in Lijiang; a car is needed for all outings, even to eat unless you order delivery, and walking out requires crossing a 2x2 lane at risk to your life; in August the room was cold and you couldn’t adjust the temperature.

The room was absolutely delightful—ideal for a family with very young kids; the beds were comfy and fit us, the table was perfect for my 4‑year‑old to color, the sofas offered a break from bed, the bathroom was outstanding with water‑feature faucets, marble floors, and a toilet separated from the bath/shower/sink for hygiene; the view beside the elevator was amazing, the pool fabulous with a hot‑tub area and a heated toddler pool that we used daily for 5 days; breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve seen, and both a‑la‑carte and buffet dinners were fantastic, though I preferred the buffet; the dinner buffet was also among the best I’ve experienced at high‑end places. The staff’s English level didn’t match the listing’s “English spoken here,” which was a minor annoyance; they were always friendly and positive but kept reaching for an app instead of speaking Chinese, which I understand a bit; the gym needs a rowing machine and kettlebells for a more complete experience.

The hotel sits right on the lake, which is great; staff were very helpful; the gym and pool are fantastic, both overlooking the lake; rooms are very spacious, corner rooms have a great view. Air‑con in one of our rooms was very weak; the location makes it hard to get food—you have to walk a fair distance or get delivery; it’s a bit far from the old town and other attractions, though it’s close to Erhai Lake and the park.

People are very nice and supportive, but the main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The service was exceptional from reception to concierge. The staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was large with a beautiful view of the lake and had clean, modern interiors.
