The owner was super nice and the spot was great for walking into Stary Smokovec or catching the train to nearby hikes.

The room had a balcony and a very comfortable bed with a beautiful road view; apples were left for guests at the building entrance—a truly small but big gesture. In our lounge the radiator was dusty, the kitchen had cloths and bags that smelled like burnt food, making it disgusting to use. Larger mugs were available for those who paid for breakfast. My son soiled his pants by sitting in the chair on the balcony the first evening (happens sometimes). The manager wanted to throw the chair out instead of washing it or throwing away a cover, saying “that’s how we do it.” We rented a room for six people, but only four could use the balcony chairs. In the garden there was a dead bird (apparently a caretaker issue). For a week I couldn't bring a towel. Also, the guy is obsessed with parking, pushing things onto the street like in a showroom.
