The location and Juan, the owner, were standout features of our stay - he's an exceptional person who made us feel very welcome.

“Todo genial”
Simplicity, cleanliness and very good service.
“Aceptable”
Juan was very friendly and helped us with a few routes, which we really appreciated. The hotel’s pets greet you warmly when you arrive and are lovely. The bed was comfortable, parking is right at the hotel entrance, and the room was clean. In the dining area you find everything you need if you want to eat there, and there’s a communal fridge in case you need to store something. In the morning Juan invites you for coffee with juice and pastries to start the day well. The dog’s barking at 6:30 am woke us, which was a shame because we wanted to sleep a bit more, but that weekend there was a trail‑running event and a lot of people were making noise from early, so the barking was probably related. The room window doesn’t close completely, but since the hotel is on the outskirts of town there is no annoying noise and we didn’t feel cold.

The staff were kind and entirely willing to make your stay very pleasant. Overall I left satisfied with everything.
Juan is an extraordinary guy who will make sure your stay is unforgettable. The hotel is authentic, and even though it looks like it’s out of a horror movie, it’s comfortable and spotless. We would come back without hesitation. The shower curtain was a bit of an issue.

As other travelers say, Juan is really friendly and gives good advice, better than a tourist office. If it weren’t for the solar eclipse I might not have discovered Rioja, a beautiful region worth visiting; Ezcaray is a very pleasant town with many restaurants for dinner. Nothing negative.
