The room was huge, had a kitchen, and was well maintained. The elevators were a problem because only one worked and it was awful; the air conditioning was limited and during a heat wave it didn’t lower the room temperature enough. The Lago de Taurito facilities were badly maintained.
“Buena”
The food was good. It would have been nice to spend a few more hours in the hotel pool while waiting to be picked up. If check‑in was at 3 pm, we should have been allowed to stay until that time. Even though we had to leave the room at 11 am, the other services should have been available until the hotel’s check‑in time.
The food was fine. The facilities were very old, the mattresses were uncomfortable, and the pool was always murky. They let guests do whatever they wanted: drink in the pool, enter the restaurant in a bikini and without a shirt.
The room’s location was great, the meal times were handled wonderfully, the pools and slides were excellent, and the staff were very efficient.
“Experiencia nefasta La comida no cumple con la calidad/precio y ascensores rotos .”
What I liked was the very friendly staff, both the cleaning ladies and the reception guy who was there Saturday afternoon, and the free access to the water park. What I didn’t like was the food quality relative to the price; mold was present in the cheese, the pineapple rice had a very unpleasant smell and taste, overall a bad experience. The reservation was for a double room, but to my surprise the double room turned out to be a lounge with a sofa. At check‑in I mentioned this to reception and they said it was a VIP room for the reception. Also, on the first day only one elevator worked for nine floors; our room was on the 8th floor. After two hours they broke it and put up a sign that access was only via staff elevators, the floor was cracked, lighting was poor, huge cockroaches were present, the hallway where they were seemed like a horror movie, and the cleaning staff seemed fine seeing guests there. On Sunday there was a lot of activity from 8 am until I told a cleaning lady it was embarrassing that we had to use that elevator as guests while there were 7 people of staff and 3 guests plus a cleaning lady who had to hurry. The cleaning lady on Sunday morning told me there had been a malfunction since Friday. That is not my problem or the other guests’ problem since I paid 466 € for two nights for adults to be comfortable. I could have gone elsewhere, but the pictures were beautiful for that hotel. For our experience I will never go again to Lago Taurito.
