“Für Ruhe und Entspannung nur zu empfehlen.”
The place is a quiet, contemplative retreat that feels like a monastery, a true haven for reflection. The rooms are spartan yet comfortable and fit the overall vibe. The St. Ulrich chapel is nearby, open all day and well maintained. It’s also a pilgrimage spot, with a cross‑path from every surrounding village leading to it. The cemetery for the deceased Oblate brothers is cared for, and German soldiers are buried there too. The history of the site could use better explanation; apparently a SPA hotel is planned, but luxury doesn’t suit this setting. Thanks to Madame Jo for her care. The building is spotless, close to Sarrebourg with good restaurants, and the neighboring Auberge St. Ulrich is highly recommended. The many nearby streams offer pure relaxation, and pets are welcome. Overall, the experience met my expectations; I wanted nothing more and can’t find fault—truly a hostel in the truest sense.
